Mobile Solar
Generators
Solar generators are clean, renewable and unlimited energy as long as there is sun available. They are quiet and clean and do give off toxic fumes. They can easily be taken camping or used at tailgate parties! Solar generators make more sense for emergency preparedness and power outages since they do not rely on gas, diesel or propane infrastructure which are typically down in natural disasters.
You can customize a mobile solar generator from small emergency use systems with a single battery that put out from 1500 to 6000 Watts from the inverter to larger home or cabin units with larger battery banks and more panels that can put out from 3000 to 20,000 Watts. We can also help you build a trailer based unit that can supply up to 10,000 or even 20,000 Watts of power with up to 1000-2000 Watts of solar.
You can add small micro VAWT wind generators to any mobile generator to help charge the battery bank 24hrs a day if there is adequate wind.
This Modular mobile solar system has two or three separate modules, one for the rolling base where the battery is located, second is where the Inverter is housed and the third module is where the solar Charge Controller is housed or you can put it in the second module depending on room. With the ability to separate the battery base module from the others, it is easier to pickup and put in a vehicle. Because it is modular, this allows for stacking various systems together for expandability as well as the ability to daisy chain more battery modules together.

12v Modular Mobile Unit
This mobile solar generator is based on a a Ridgid 3 piece modular rolling tool box that allows for easy mobility up to a 60lb battery, solar inverter, charge controller and various tools. This system is modular to gain access to the battery compartment in the base, and the other two modules for the inverter and charge controller. Battery module can be detached and moved separately from other two modules. Since the battery module is on it own and mobile, you can connect more together to give you more Amp Hrs of battery capacity.
3000 Watt Pure Sine (6000 Watt Peak) DC to AC Inverter
The base inverter in this unit is a 2000 Watt with a peak capability of 4000 Watts. The inverter is a Pure Sine Wave inverter and can handle most devices and tools connected to it up to 25 Amps. The largest Inverter that can fit the case is a 3000 Watt Inverter.
The Inverter is one of the major components of any solar system whether Grid Tied or Off Grid because they convert solar and battery power which is DC voltage to AC voltage so you can use any of your regular 110-120V AC appliances. The Inverter in the mobile generator is an Off Grid or what we call a Point Of Use Inverter when using smaller inverters.
100-150 Watt Flex/Lightweight Solar Panel
The lightweight solar panel (4lbs) we have chosen for mobile systems can charge a single 100-110 Amp Hr battery in about 8-9 hrs of direct sunlight. If 3 solar panels are connected in parallel with T branch connectors the charge time is about 3-4 hrs.
The charge time will vary if system is being used at the same time as solar charging. We also build and sell lightweight PVC ground mount units for a single panel up to 3 panels. The maximum amount of solar for this system is 360 Watts for a 12v battery unit.
The solar panel or solar panels, are another major component for any solar system whether Grid Tied or Off Grid.
For mobile solar generators, it is important to keep the weight at a minimum for transport so we choose 100 Watt up to 150 Watt Flex or lightweight thin film solar panels. You may also connect any other type of solar crystalline panels that are larger and less expensive than their flex/thin film counterparts. It is important to only connect as much watts of solar crystalline panels that the solar charge controller can handle which is 360 Watts in this model.
110 Amp Hr SLA Deep Cycle Battery
We recomend and use SLA (Sealed Lead Acid), AGM (Absorbed Glass Materials) or Lithium Ion batteries for our mobiles systems. This eliminates the off gassing of hydrogen gas into the air while charging is taking place. This is safer for indoor usage and tight confined spaces like RVs or trailers. Sealed batteries also will not spill acid while in motion or transporting. All batteries we use for renewable energy systems are Deep Cycle and allow for deep discharging without to much harm. The best batteries of course are Lithium and can do 1000s of cycles however they are costly right now and best for projects like Electric Vehicles or mobile solar systems where budget is not a factor. Calculate run time: 10*110Ah/Total watts of appliances = Run Time in Hrs
MPPT Solar Charge Controller
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) solar charge controllers pull more power from the solar panels.
The solar charge controller is required to charge a single battery or a larger battery bank and sits between the solar panels and the battery bank. It controls the charging of the battery bank and will not overcharge or damage the battery. GreenTechFusion
If the customer wishes to use Lithium battery banks, you must match the correct solar charge controller that can charge Lithium properly with BMS.

24v Configured 188+ Amp Hr Nissan Leaf Lithium Battery Cells
This is a prototype mobile solar generator configured with Nissan Leaf Lithium cell packs. Each cell is about 7.9v DC and can hold about 500 Watt hrs. When configured as a 3 cell battery pack in series, we get about 24v DC and over 188Ah capacity or more. Battery Management Systems do not need to be used in this application however recommended.
